Clackamas River Community Cooperative is a resident-owned manufactured home community in Clackamas, Oregon. We are a terrific neighborhood for people who like a rural setting that's an easy drive to Oregon City, Portland and all that nature has to offer.
Living along the Clackamas river is a pastime for many people, but we're lucky enough to call it home. Walks through nearby Huckleberry Park with the occasional deer sighting and the multitude of song birds provide us with a nature-setting few neighborhoods enjoy. Living in a rural setting while having 25-minute access to the city of Portland gives us the best of both worlds.
Clackamas River Community Cooperative is owned by the co-op members who live
here -- we are a resident-owned community (ROC). That means we control the rent and make the rules. In 2012, we formed the Clackamas River Community Cooperative and, on October 26, 2012, the Cooperative purchased the land and infrastructure, such as the roads and water lines. Now, a democratically elected board of directors manages the business of running the Clackamas River Community. Every member household in the community has a say in who sits on that board, how we spend our money, the annual budget, and whether we make changes to the rent.
We're also part of a national network of almost 200 ROCs just like us. That membership provides us with access to expert coaching on how to run our ROC, leadership development and training, communications with dozens of community leaders who face many of the same issues we do, and more. Life in Clackamas River Community is truly different than in a commercially owned community – we invite you to find out first-hand how that difference makes living here so much better.
